Baseball Recap: Union Hill Takes a Loss

Union Hill and Avalon squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Union Hill had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0. The Bulldogs were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but the Eagles' pitchers proved too tough.

The defeat snapped Union Hill's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-9 record. As for Avalon, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Union Hill beat the Eagles by a score of 19-2 later that day.
