Volleyball Recap: Cupertino Comes Up Short

Cupertino lost against Homestead back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Pioneers fell 3-1 to the Mustangs. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Homestead scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Cupertino saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Natalie Baker had 21 digs and six assists. Baker has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Cupertino's defeat dropped their record down to 24-8. As for Homestead, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-7.

Cupertino has already played their next contest (against Evergreen Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Homestead, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against St. Ignatius College Preparatory on the 1st.
