Basketball Recap: Meridian Takes a Loss

Meridian lost against Meyer back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Meridian Yellowjackets had to suffer through a 84-47 loss at the hands of the Meyer Ravens. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 924th, while the Ravens are ranked 318th).

Meridian dropped their record down to 15-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Meyer, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 28-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meridian will take on Rio Vista at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meyer, they will square off against Bosqueville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Meyer's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches.
