The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mercersburg Academy came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Westtown are ranked 116th).

Mercersburg Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Westtown, their record is now 6-4-1.
