Basketball Recap: Jay Comes Up Short

After flying high against Commerce last Saturday, Jay came back down to earth. The Jay Bulldogs took a 37-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vinita Hornets on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Jay's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Vinita, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Jay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vinita, they will host Catoosa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Vinita's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while Catoosa has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
