Basketball Recap: Olivia Reeves Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Swain County

There's no place like home for Summit Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They skirted past the Swain County Maroon Devils 36-34. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Summit Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Reeves out in front who went 5 of 8 en route to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Mathis, who posted two points and seven rebounds.

Summit Charter's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Swain County, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Summit Charter won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Murphy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Swain County, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Highlands at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
