Softball Recap: Lenox Memorial Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

On Saturday Lenox Memorial's undefeated season almost came to an end. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Hoosac Valley Hurricanes. That's more bragging rights for the Millionaires, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cassidy Flynn and Evelyn Julieano were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Flynn tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Julieano tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Flynn has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Flynn went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Julieano went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Julieano, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Lenox Memorial pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Hoosac Valley, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-2.

Lenox Memorial and Hoosac Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Millionaires (ranked 26th) will meet Monument Mountain (ranked 114th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hoosac Valley will take on McCann Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (35 vs. 115).
