Basketball Recap: Diamond Bar's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Diamond Bar hadn't done well against Claremont recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Diamond Bar Brahmas came out on top against the Claremont Wolfpack by a score of 64-55. This was payback for the Brahmas, who suffered a 78-60 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Claremont's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Zitar, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 boards. With that strong performance, Zitar is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Dominic Xatruch, who went 8 for 14 en route to 17 points and eight boards.

With the win, Diamond Bar broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-13. As for Claremont, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
