Falls Lake and Research Triangle are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Firebirds will challenge the Raptors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Falls Lake didn't have quite enough to beat Neuse Charter and fell 86-84. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (60), the Firebirds still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Research Triangle was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 91-85 to American Leadership Academy-Johnston. The Raptors were up 72-57 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Falls Lake's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Research Triangle, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Falls Lake was able to grind out a solid win over Research Triangle in their previous meeting back in February, winning 58-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Firebirds since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
