Volleyball Recap: Bishop Fenwick Takes a Loss

Bishop Fenwick lost against St. Mary back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Crusaders fell 3-1 to the Spartans. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Bishop Fenwick started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20.

Kylie Murphy paced Bishop Fenwick's offense, picking up nine kills. Murphy got some help from Emme Lubas and her 26 assists. Charlotte Spooner controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Vanessa Magloire went supernova For St. Mary's., getting 20 digs and two aces. Magloire has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played.

Bishop Fenwick's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for St. Mary's, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-8.

Bishop Fenwick has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Danvers on the 24th. As for St. Mary's, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Salem on the 24th.
