Volleyball Recap: Middletown Comes Up Short

Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2015.

Carly Johnson paced Middletown's offense, picking up seven kills. Johnson got some help from Trinity Galvan and her 11 assists. Jordyn Harbison controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.

Middletown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Roseland University Prep on the 6th. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Analy on the 6th.
