Basketball Recap: Concord Academy Makes It 12 in a Row at Home

Concord Academy won the last time they faced Carmel Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles really took it to the Cougars for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-24 victory. That looming 71-24 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Concord Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jada Powell out in front who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiyah Fomond, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

Concord Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carmel Christian only posted four.

Despite the loss, Carmel Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Scarlett Krause posted ten points.

The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games. As for Carmel Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
