Softball Recap: Mountain Heritage Takes a Loss

Mountain Heritage lost against Hibriten on March 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Mountain Heritage lost 15-5 to Hibriten. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Layla Worley was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Cloey Morrow also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Mountain Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Hibriten, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Mountain Heritage and Hibriten could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Mountain Heritage (ranked 321st) will meet Swain County (ranked 159th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hibriten will face off against Alexander Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday down 103 places (110 vs. 7).
