Softball Recap: Clear Springs' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clear Springs can now relate to. They fell just short of the Atascocita Eagles by a score of 13-11 on Thursday. The Chargers' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Elisa Garcia and Makenzie Thomas did some serious damage despite the final result: Garcia went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Thomas got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was Garcia's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Strever, who went 4-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Clear Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Atascocita, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 30-7.

While Clear Springs had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
