Payten Stebbins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Enfield let Emily Lyver and Paige Valintakonis run wild. Lyver went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Valintakonis went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those RBI were Lyver's first of the season. Claire Bouffard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Enfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, while Southington put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Tolland. The Blue Knights were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Blue Knights in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Aubrey Perugini was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Barrieau, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.

Enfield pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Southington, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Enfield has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 12.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Southington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Enfield couldn't quite get it done against Southington in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
