Eldorado falls despite strong effort from Bella Hines

On Wednesday, the Eldorado Golden Eagles faced the La Cueva Bears in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Eldorado fell 46-38 to La Cueva. Eldorado has struggled against La Cueva recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Eldorado lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bella Hines. Despite the final result, she scored 29 points along with eight rebounds. The contest was Hines' 11th in a row with at least ten points.

Eldorado struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Cueva to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordyn Dyer, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Dyer set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Another player making a difference was Kiauna Romero, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.

Eldorado's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for La Cueva, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
