Basketball Game Preview: Illiana Christian Vikings vs. Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors

The Illiana Christian Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hammond Bishop Noll took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Illiana Christian, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Illiana Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Whiting, taking the game 46-38.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Illiana Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ella Olthof, who posted six points along with 14 boards and five assists. That's the most assists Olthof has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Van Beek, who put up 14 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Hammond Bishop Noll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 68-51 to Hanover Central.

Illiana Christian will need focus on slowing down Jaiden Hall, one of several Hammond Bishop Noll players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Ecrin Mart was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Hammond Bishop Noll's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Illiana Christian, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7.

Everything came up roses for Illiana Christian against Hammond Bishop Noll in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 66-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Illiana Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
