MacArthur can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Lanphier Lions out 8-7. The victory was just what MacArthur needed coming off of a 14-0 defeat in their prior game.

Zion Bradford made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also only allowed one walk). Bradford has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Bradford was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Peyton Alder was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

MacArthur's win ended a 15-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Lanphier, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. MacArthur will take on Mt. Zion at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lanphier, they will head out on the road to square off against Springfield Southeast at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lanphier will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
