Softball Recap: Big Valley Christian Drops Season-High Score on Bret Harte

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Big Valley Christian). They blew past the Bret Harte Bullfrogs 23-14 on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Cecily Fontana, who went 3-for-6 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kailey Rivera, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Big Valley Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .512. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Big Valley Christian's record now sits at 10-15. As for Bret Harte, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Coming up, Big Valley Christian will head out to challenge Calaveras at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bret Harte, they will welcome Summerville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
