Football Recap: Victory Christian Falls to Woodland in First Game of Season

Victory Christian had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost to the Woodland Bobcats on the road by a 35-21 margin. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 7-0 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Victory Christian still got an impressive performance from Chase Pond, who rushed for 96 yards and one touchdown. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Dewayne Talley, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Woodland's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Victory Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wadley at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Woodland, they will welcome Gaston at 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
