There's no place like home for Serena, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Newark Norsemen by a score of 8-4 on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Huskers: when they faced off against the Norsemen on Tuesday, they had to take a 1-0 defeat.

Maddie Glade spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on RayElle Brennan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynley Glade, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Serena hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newark struck out seven times.

Serena's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Newark, they dropped their record down to 10-14-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Serena will challenge Fieldcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Newark, they will take on Parkview Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Norsemen are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
