Baseball Recap: Yreka Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Yreka can now relate to. They came up short against the West Valley Eagles on Tuesday, falling 11-1. The Miners were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Yreka and nudges their season record down to 12-15. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 18-11 Lassen (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 73% over those games). As for West Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-4.

Yreka does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Valley, they will host Lassen at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Grizzlies will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
