Volleyball Recap: Downingtown East's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Downingtown East waltzed into their match on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Great Valley Patriots 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Downingtown East might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Great Valley scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 25-19.

Marisa Guan paced Downingtown East's offense, picking up nine kills. Guan got some help from Paige Vanemon and her 15 assists. Guan was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Downingtown East's win bumped their record up to 19-4-4. As for Great Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Downingtown East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Great Valley, they will face off against Central Bucks South at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
