Basketball Recap: Poinciana Comes Up Short

After soaring to 57 points the game before, Poinciana was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the St. Cloud Bulldogs and fell 60-23. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Cloud to victory, but perhaps none more so than Syani Berrios, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Those 18 points gave Berrios a new career-high. Arianna Viera was another key player, going 11 for 23 on her way to 27 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Poinciana's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for St. Cloud, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Poinciana didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-43 win against Osceola on the 22nd. As for St. Cloud, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-29 victory against Tohopekaliga on the 22nd.
