Gresham is 2-8 against Barlow since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Gophers are taking a road trip to challenge the Bruins at 6:30 p.m. Gresham is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
Gresham is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since March 19th on Friday. They lost 14-3 to Sandy.
Gresham saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Despina Seufalemua, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. La Terra Foster-Frison was another, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Barlow entered their tilt with Nelson on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over Nelson.
Kaylee Pokorny 2025 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Barlow let Pehtyn Hart 2026 and Alyssa McCormick 2028 run wild. Hart 2026 got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while McCormick 2028 went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Hart 2026 has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Trapp 2026, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Barlow hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Barlow's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Gresham, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.
Both Gresham and Barlow just can't seem to miss. The Gophers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12 hits per game. However, it's not like Barlow struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Gresham beat Barlow 7-2 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gophers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
