Basketball Recap: Eagle River Comes Up Short

Eagle River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 39-29 to the West Valley Wolf Pack. The Wolves were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolf Pack from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Defeat or not, Eagle River got some senior leadership from Katherine Christy and Beverly Reed. Christy posted ten points and three steals, while Reed went 5 for 12 en route to 11 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Christy a new career-high in points.

Eagle River's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for West Valley, with the win, they broke their 12-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-11.

Eagle River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-29 defeat against Soldotna on the 25th. West Valley has also already played their next contest, a 45-39 loss against Kenai Central on the 25th.
