Sandia had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Capital on Saturday. The Matadors never let the Jaguars get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Matadors have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Sandia's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Capital, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-9 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sandia beat the Jaguars by a score of 26-8 later that day.
