Baseball Recap: Sylva Bay Academy Saints vs. Laurel HomeSchool Knighthawks
Sylva Bay Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Laurel HomeSchool Knighthawks a 14-0 shutout. Considering the Saints have won six games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Brody Boyd made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Lane Miller was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Sylva Bay Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise.
