With a playoff win on the line, Woodward Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They secured a 63-58 W over the Langston Hughes Panthers. The victory was familiar territory for the War Eagles, who have now won ten games in a row.

Leading Woodward Academy to victory were Jarvis Hayes Jr. and Zachary Foster. Hayes Jr. went 7-for-12 on his way to 18 points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Foster shot 50% from the field to rack up 18 points and five boards. With that strong performance, Hayes Jr. is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Jackson, who posted eight points.

Woodward Academy's win bumped their record up to 27-4. As for Langston Hughes, they moved to 24-8 with that loss, which also ended their 13-game winning streak.

Coming up, Woodward Academy will take on Tri-Cities at 7:30 p.m. on March 7th. Woodward Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 31 contests -- so hopefully Tri-Cities likes a good challenge. Langston Hughes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
