Volleyball Recap: Independence Triumphs + How To Watch

Independence won the last time they faced Ravenwood and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles came out on top against the Raptors by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Independence had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 25-15, 25-13.

Lily Patton was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had nine digs and one assist. Those nine digs gave her a new career-high.

Independence was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ravenwood only served nine.

Despite the defeat, Ravenwood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Izabela Sylver had 17 digs.

Independence's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Ravenwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Independence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Page on the 2nd. As for Ravenwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Nolensville on the 1st.
