Football Game Preview: Bonanza Bengals vs. Faith Lutheran Crusaders

The Bonanza Bengals will head out on the road to square off against the Faith Lutheran Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Bonanza and 11 for Faith Lutheran.

Bonanza is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Legacy, who was ranked 17th at the time (Bonanza was ranked 20th). Bonanza was outmatched by Legacy and fell 42-12. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Bengals, who until this match were averaging 10.64 points allowed.

Although Bonanza took the loss, they still got scores from Larein Caballero and Reagan Coupe.

Meanwhile, Faith Lutheran played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Pinecrest Academy Cadence 34-7. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Bonanza now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Faith Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Everything came up roses for Bonanza against Faith Lutheran in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 40-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bonanza since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
