Soccer Recap: Pelham Comes Up Short

If Pelham was feeling good fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Bessemer City last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pelham Panthers came up short against the Chelsea Hornets on Thursday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Hornets are ranked 13th).

Pelham's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9-2. As for Chelsea, their win bumped their record up to 7-3-5.

Pelham will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gardendale at 5:30 p.m. on April 1st. Chelsea also won't see the pitch for a while: their next matchup is against Susan Moore at 5:30 p.m. on April 1st.
