Basketball Game Preview: Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles vs. Piedmont Community Charter Patriots

The Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles will face off against the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pinnacle Classical Academy's usually-dominant defense will be looking to make up for Wednesday's struggle, when Carolina Day offense got past them. Pinnacle Classical Academy came up short against Carolina Day on Wednesday, falling 64-41. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-20.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Emily Chichas, who posted six points along with seven rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarissa Christopher, who had three points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Piedmont Community Charter unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Jackson Day and fell 66-18. The Patriots were down 53-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Pinnacle Classical Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Piedmont Community Charter, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-4.

Pinnacle Classical Academy ended up a good deal behind Piedmont Community Charter in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, losing 60-41. Thankfully for Pinnacle Classical Academy, Grace East (who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
