Volleyball Game Preview: Amherst County Lancers vs. Rustburg Red Devils + How To Watch

Amherst County is 0-10 against Rustburg since March of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Lancers will head out to square off against the Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. Amherst County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Amherst County had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Liberty on Tuesday. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Minutemen.

Meanwhile, Rustburg came up short against Glass on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Hilltoppers: they've now lost four in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-12, 25-23.

Amherst County will have to keep a close watch on Peyton Lowes and Claire Butler, a pair of players who had a big impact on Rustburg's prior game. Lowes had ten digs and two aces, while Butler had ten digs. Kaylee Wooten also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Rustburg's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Amherst County, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
