The Buffalo Bison will challenge the Eastern Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buffalo knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Eastern likes a good challenge.
Buffalo came out on top against Roane County on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Bison blew past the Raiders 12-5. Considering the Bison have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Zoe Hawkins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Hawkins was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Cobb, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. K Samples was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Meanwhile, Eastern came into Thursday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Waterford a 5-0 shutout on Thursday.
The result came thanks to Jaynna Wright 2026's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ashlynn Thomas 2027 was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Elizabeth Putman 2028 also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Eastern hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Buffalo's record now sits at 12-6. As for Eastern, their record is now 8-5.
