It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Wiregrass ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Abbeville Christian Academy Generals. This was a revenge game for the Kings: when they faced off against the Generals back in March, they had to take a 6-2 loss.

Josie Landry spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sophie Creel, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Mattie Hobson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Wiregrass' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-16. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

As of now, neither Wiregrass nor the Generals have any future games scheduled.
