Volleyball Recap: Gering Bulldogs vs. Wheatland Bulldogs
There's no place like home for Gering, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Wheatland Bulldogs on Thursday. Gering has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Wheatland, too.
Gering had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-14.
Gering found their leader in underclassman Aubrey Anderson, who had 13 digs, five kills, and 39 assists. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Schanaman, who had 15 digs and four aces.
Gering's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Wheatland, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-6.
Gering wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Chadron on the 12th. Wheatland has also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Newcastle on the 12th.
