Basketball Recap: Mooresville Takes Down Franklin Central in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mooresville had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They snuck past the Franklin Central Flashes with a 57-51 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pioneers.

Mooresville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyrone Elmore led the charge by putting up 14 points. Another player making a difference was Brevon Burns, who posted 12 points and six boards.

Mooresville's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Franklin Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Mooresville will challenge Lawrence North at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lawrence North will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Mooresville surely won't give up without a fight. Franklin Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
