Softball Recap: Montello Comes Up Short

Montello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Cambria-Friesland, falling 20-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Montello of the 18-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Montello's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Cambria-Friesland, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Montello will be playing in front of their home fans against Markesan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Hilltoppers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cambria-Friesland, they will challenge Green Lake/Princeton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
