The Dunkirk Marauders are taking a road trip to face off against the Maryvale Flyers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dunkirk is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Albion a 13-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for the Marauders, who have now won three games in a row.

Josh Lemanski and Henry Leone did most of the damage at the plate: Lemanski went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Leone went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Leone a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Valentine, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Dunkirk was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Maryvale not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 3rd (when they won 12-1). Everything went their way against Olean as they made off with an 8-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Flyers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Maryvale got a big performance out of Jameson McNeill, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Dominic Daly was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Dunkirk's record is now 17-3. As for Maryvale, their record now sits at 16-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Dunkirk has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Maryvale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Dunkirk couldn't quite get it done against Maryvale when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Marauders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
