Football Game Preview: St. Anne's-Belfield Saints vs. Blue Ridge Barons + How To Watch

The St. Anne's-Belfield Saints are taking a road trip to face off against the Blue Ridge Barons at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Anne's-Belfield will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

St. Anne's-Belfield's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 27-0 win over Roanoke Catholic. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Jonah Brent and Rylan Goffe-Lambert were among the main playmakers for St. Anne's-Belfield as the former rushed for 143 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries and the latter rushed for 115 yards and two scores on only 15 carries. Brent is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Anne's-Belfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 323 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

St. Anne's-Belfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cai Prinzbach and Nafeese Summers.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 37 points the game before, Blue Ridge was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They had to suffer through a 68-6 loss at the hands of North Cross. While losing is never fun, the Barons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Raiders are ranked 19th).

Blue Ridge's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, their record is now 5-0.

St. Anne's-Belfield was dealt a bruising 42-8 loss at the hands of Blue Ridge in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
