Soccer Game Preview: Brookhaven vs. Florence

Brookhaven hasn't had much luck against Florence recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Brookhaven sitting on five straight wins and Florence on four.

Brookhaven had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the ten-goal drubbing they dealt Franklin County on Tuesday. The Panthers never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Give Brookhaven's defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Florence made easy work of St. Andrew's Episcopal on Tuesday and carried off a 6-0 win. Florence might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by four goals or more this season.

Brookhaven's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Florence, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Brookhaven came up short against Florence in their previous matchup back in January, falling 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
