Basketball Recap: Jefferson County Comes Up Short

Jefferson County lost against Dodge County back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Jefferson County Warriors fell to the Dodge County Indians 55-49. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 15-7 in the first quarter.

Jefferson County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Dodge County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson County has already played their next contest (against Washington County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Dodge County will head out to take on Dublin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dublin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Dodge County likes a good challenge.
