Softball Recap: Barker Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

While Barker's win against Newfane wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since May 10, 2024.

Not much got past Peyton Bradley, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Newfane off the board. Bradley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Barker has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Newfane, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Barker and Newfane will both be playing Wilson the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will host the Lakemen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
