Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Easton Rinewalt and Ayden Poteet Lead West to Victory

West entered their tilt with McGregor on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the McGregor Bulldogs 81-57. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 75-58 on January 10th.

West was led to victory by Ayden Poteet and Easton Rinewalt. Poteet went 12 for 16 en route to 28 points and eight boards, while Rinewalt posted 20 points. Rinewalt continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Luke Rogers was another key player, putting up seven points.

West was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

West's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-9. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 10-16 McGregor (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34.6% over those games). As for McGregor, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16.

West has already played their next matchup (against Harmony School of Innovation), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McGregor will host Clifton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McGregor knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Clifton likes a good challenge.
