Basketball Recap: Prospect Knights vs. Saint Viator Lions
The Prospect Knights waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Saint Viator 61-44. Given Prospect's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Lions are ranked 339th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Saint Viator still got an impressive performance from Mia Bergstrom, who scored 36 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bergstrom has scored all season.
Prospect has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Saint Viator, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.
Prospect won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Grenadiers at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Elk Grove is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Saint Viator, they and the Corsairs will face off at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Carmel is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
