Winn and Southside are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. The Mavericks will welcome the Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Winn is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Things were looking good for Winn after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jay.

Winn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amaddis Avila, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Kiara Garcia also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Southside can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over Harlandale. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cardinals have posted since February 28th.

Winn's loss dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Southside, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
