Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery County Wildcats vs. Bowling Green Bobcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Montgomery County Wildcats challenge the Bowling Green Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Montgomery County is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Wednesday, Montgomery County lost to Fatima at home by a 50-35 margin. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Comets are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bowling Green, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Van-Far 41-39.

Bowling Green pushed their record up to 5-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points per game. As for Montgomery County, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-7.

Everything came up roses for Montgomery County against Bowling Green when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 55-17 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Montgomery County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
