Softball Recap: Pflugerville Comes Up Short

Pflugerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Georgetown Eagles, falling 14-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 13-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Braelynn Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noemie Jackson, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Williams wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Pflugerville lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Pflugerville's loss dropped their record down to 4-13-1. As for Georgetown, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-8-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Pflugerville and Georgetown will both be playing Pflugerville Connally the next time they take the field. Georgetown will host Pflugerville Connally at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Pflugerville will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
