Football Recap: East St. Louis Flyers vs. Newton Rams

On Saturday, the East St. Louis Flyers earned a 28-21 win over the Newton Rams. Given the Flyers' advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked first in Illinois, while the Rams are ranked 44th in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East St. Louis will challenge Imhotep Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Imhotep Charter will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something East St. Louis surely won't give up without a fight. As for Newton, they will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Archer at 7:30 p.m. on September 20th. Newton is facing Archer at the right time seeing as Archer is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
